Prof. Brian Harvey (NRF B1) from the Pharmacology subject group at North-West University has been recognised among the three most cited researchers in Neuroscience in South Africa in the 2026 rankings published by Research.com.
This recognition reflects decades of contribution to neuropharmacology and psychiatric research, with a career spanning translational neuroscience, novel drug discovery, and the development of experimental models aimed at improving understanding of complex psychiatric disorders. His work has also contributed to strengthening collaborative research networks and postgraduate training within South African neuroscience.
