5th All Africa Congress on Basic and Clinical Pharmacology 2012
Will open for registration early in 2012
The 5th All Africa Congress on Basic and Clinical Pharmacology will be held from 11-13 July 2012 in Accra, Ghana.
This continental meeting is organised under the auspices of PharfA and will be hosted by the team of Prof Alex Dodoo. The theme of the meeting is: Safe and Effective Medicines for Africa: Promoting sound education, research and drug therapy towards the Millenium Development Goals. In addition, there will be a pre-conference Satellite workshop on experimental pharmacology (IOSP) for young scientists from 5-7 July 2012 in Lagos, Nigeria, and a pre-conference Satellite workshop on Pharmacovigilance from 9-10 July 2012 in Accra Ghana. SASBCP supports this meeting, will aim to send a number of junior and senior scientists. The congress website and more information will follow soon. |

Annual SASBCP Congress 2012

The 46th Annual Congress 2012 of the SASBCP will be hosted by the Dept of Pharmacology, University of Pretoria. The meeting will be held from 30 Sep to 02 Oct 2012 in the Sanlam Ouditorium, main campus, Univ. of Pretoria, Pretoria, Gauteng. Other future hosts 2013-2016 can be viewed on this website. |

Preparing for WCP2014: The 17th World Congress of Basic and Clinical Pharmacology (WCP2014), upcoming congress of IUPHAR, is
to be hosted by the SASBCP in Cape Town, South Africa. This congress promises to be a scientific success and memorable experience. Our progress with organising the meeting is advanced and a professional congress organiser will also be appointed prior to the annual congress in Durban.
Opportunities: WCP2014 Congress Organising committees have now intensified their activities, increasingly involving SASBCP members. You are most welcome to approach the WCP2014 organising committee if you as member wish to become involved. WCP2014 meetings will also be held in conjunction with our AGM during our annual national congress in September 2011. Importantly, we have also made progress to strengthen our ties with pharmacologists from the rest
of
Africa, as agreed at the African evening held in Copenhagen 2010. |

Scientific Meeting of African Pharmacologists: The 5th All Africa Congress on Basic and Clinical Pharmacology will be held early in July 2012 in Accra, Ghana. South Africa, Egypt, Kenya and tyhe West African Society of Pharmacology is already involved and we intend to expand participation. The SASBCP will seek financial support for members to attend. More details will follow soon.
